Colonial Resistance

Description
Starting with the Sugar Act in 1764, the British Parliament continually tried to regulate and tax the colonies, which attempts were steadily resisted.
What single event (between 1764 and 1776) caused colonial resistance to pass a “point of no return”, after which the Revolutionary War was inevitable?

Why did you select that specific event?

You have a number of events to choose from, encompassing the entire time span from 1764 to the summer of 1776. Bear in mind that, even after the decision was made for independence, indications are that anywhere from 20 to 35 percent of colonists STILL were not in favor of it. So, perhaps, the question could be phrased another way, which is to say what event changed the most people’s minds to be in favor of independence?
